India's Top 5 Turmeric Producing States

India is a top global turmeric producer and exporter, known for its cuisine, medicine, and cultural usage. The primary turmeric-producing states in India include:

Annually, Telangana yields 3,30,260 tonnes of turmeric, with Nizamabad district celebrated for its superior quality output. The state's climate and soil are conducive to its growth.

Every year, Maharashtra generates 2,62,610 tonnes of turmeric. The main turmeric-growing districts include Sangali, Satara, Hingoli, Nanded, and Parbhani.

Karnataka's Yadgir district plays a major role in the state's turmeric yield, which adds to India's overall production. Karnataka contributes 1,30,970 tonnes to the total.

In Tamil Nadu, Erode, Coimbatore, Salem, and Dharmapuri are the top areas for growing turmeric, making up 90% of the state's production. Tamil Nadu's yearly output is 95,570 tonnes.

In FY 2021-22, Andhra Pradesh produced 74,690 tonnes of turmeric from 26 thousand hectares. Major producing districts are Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari.
