From Rajasthan to Bihar: India's Top 6 Maize Production States

Andhra Pradesh is the leading producer of maize. The state exports 20.09% of its maize crop to India. When compared to the foreign market, maize production in AP is about comparable to that of the United States.

Karnataka is ranked second among India's leading states in terms of maize production. Karnataka's soil is appropriate and productive for maize growing. As a result, this state accounts for approximately 16.5% of its share to India.

Rajasthan is a major producer of maize. This state accounts for 9.9% of the overall maize farming in India. It is the largest state with respect to yields of maize and ranks third in India in regards of maize production.

Maharashtra is also India's largest producer of maize. When compared to other major states, it contributes 9.1%.

Bihar is also a significant producer of maize. According to statistics, Bihar contributes 8.9% of India's maize production.

Madhya Pradesh produces 5.7% of India's overall maize production. It is India's seventh top maize grower based on its percentage contribution.
