Almond nuts are mainly produced in Jammu & Kashmir, which meets 91.26% country’s almond production. It gives an average production of 12.93 thousand tonnes.
Himachal Pradesh is ranked second in terms of production of Almond nuts. This state ensures to supply an average production of 0.76 thousand tonnes in the country.
Almonds in Hindi and Marathi languages are called Badam. Maharashtra state ranks third in terms of almond nuts production. Almond trees grow well in hotter temperatures.
Almond trees are grown in Karnataka also. This state is ranked fourth in India to produce almond nuts. Its famous cultivating zones are Hubli, Belgaum, Davanagere and Mangalore.
