West Bengal demonstrated a commendable performance by producing 893.96 thousand tonnes during the same period, securing a 13.93% share in the nationwide production.
The state of Bihar played a crucial role in the country's agricultural sector, producing a substantial 794.10 thousand tonnes in 2021-22. This accounted for a noteworthy 12.38% share of the total production.
Madhya Pradesh maintained its agricultural prominence by contributing significantly to the production landscape, generating 754.09 thousand tonnes. With an 11.75% share, Madhya Pradesh solidified its position.
Orissa's production of 662.64 thousand tonnes, constituting 10.33% of the national total, highlights its agricultural importance and vital role in fulfilling the country's food needs.
Chhattisgarh played a vital role, contributing 357.07 thousand tonnes (5.57% of the national total) in 2021-22, emphasising its key position in the diverse agricultural landscape.
