Hop-shoots plants need regular watering, weeding and pruning. They also need a support system, such as poles or wires, to climb on. They should be protected from pests and diseases with organic methods.
Hop-shoots can be harvested when they are about 15 cm long, usually in spring. They should be cut carefully with a sharp knife or scissors. They can be sold fresh or dried to local markets or online platforms.
Hop-shoot farming may be a successful endeavour due to the crop's high demand and limited availability. It can also offer farmers with jobs and revenue. However, it also necessitates significant commitment, expertise, and patience.
