Ber fruit thrives in diverse conditions, growing up to 1100 meters above sea level. It tolerates heat and aridity, entering dormancy for better production.

The Ber tree thrives in various soils, including shallow to deep, gravelly, sandy, and clay. It's hardy and can endure alkaline and slightly waterlogged conditions, even in poor soil.

India cultivates various Ber fruit varieties, such as Umran, Karaka, Sanaur-2, Gola, Chhuhara, Ilaichi, Mehrun, and Seb. Among these, Umran shines for its exceptional quality.

In the past, Ber trees were propagated by seeds. Now, patch budding is the preferred method. Seeds are sown directly in the field for budding plantations.

Ensure a clean environment around young ber plants through weeding and hoeing. Cultivate the soil post-irrigation for improved root aeration and weed control.
