September 11, 2024, at The Lalit in New Delhi: Experts will gather tomorrow for the TMA Agri Mechanization Summit 2024. This summit is to be held with the objective of seeking new and innovative solutions to lower distress and support small farmers. TMA organised the event with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture; it focuses on industry-academia collaboration and upcoming technologies.
This summit will be around how startups, grassroots entrepreneurs, and industry leaders are driving the change in agriculture for India. In a very real sense, innovation shapes this summit with practical solutions to raise rural livelihoods and increase farming efficiencies.
India is tractorised but not fully mechanized. Mechanization covers the entire farming process - from land preparation to sowing, harvesting and post-harvest processing. Experts will explore ways in which mechanization can enable us to meet food security demands in the future. With 197.3 million hectares under cultivation and a cropping intensity of 141.6%, the summit will address challenges faced by the 86% of Indian farmers who operate small or marginal landholdings.
Leading industry experts will speak at the event, including Ravinder Gupta, Vice President of Network Strategy and Allied Business at TAFE; Rajendra Lora, Co-founder & CEO of Freshokartz Agritech; Garv Modwel, Head of R&D Strategy, Innovation, and Robotics at India Tech Center CNH; Vasant Bhat, Founder of Trithi Robotics Pvt Ltd; TM Mallesh, CEO of Farms2Fork Technologies - Cultyvate; and Rajendra Machchabaram, Associate Professor at IIT Kharagpur.
