Swaraj Tractors Honors Farmers at 5th Agritech Summit 2024

New Delhi, September 09, 2024: Swaraj Tractors, part of the Mahindra Group, hosted the 05th Agritech Summit & Swaraj Awards today in New Delhi. The event was organized by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, the Ministry of Agriculture-Government of India, and many other organizations. The program awarded the excellence of farmers and agricultural institutions for their performances during the last year.

The theme of the event was 'The Future of Farming: Sowing the Seeds of Change.' Dr Devesh Chaturvedi, the Secretary of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, present at the summit, applauded Swaraj Tractors for always making efforts to stand with small and marginal farmers. He highlighted agriculture as the backbone of India's economy, followed by a discussion about the government's mission to make digital agriculture better. Dr. Chaturvedi represented Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who could not attend due to a personal commitment.

Keynote Address by Mr. Harish Chavan– CEO, Swaraj Division

Speaking on the occasion, keynote speaker Mr. Harish Chavan, CEO of Swaraj Division, emphasized the importance of agriculture and mechanization in realizing the vision of 'Viksit Bharat’. "As India aspires to become a developed nation, agriculture must lead the charge. With one of the highest agricultural GDPs globally, we can’t just aim for food sufficiency—we must position ourselves as the world's food basket. By embracing innovation, sustainable practices, and modern infrastructure, Indian agriculture can transform into a globally competitive sector. The challenges of climate change and attracting youth to farming can be overcome through mechanization and technology, paving the way for a vibrant and prosperous future." he said.

Dignitaries on the panel of jury for the Swaraj Awards 2024 included Shri Sundeep Nayak, Prof. R B Singh, and Dr. Anil Kumar. These awards attempt to recognize and inspire contributors to the growth story of Indian agriculture.
