On October 9, 2023, FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations of India) released a retail tractor sales report. The report reveals a 9.66% decline in tractor sales compared to September 2022.
However, 54,492 units were sold in September 2023, a drop from the 60,321 units sold in the same month of the previous year. This sales data indicates that September 2023 posed challenges for the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
In September 2023, the tractor division of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. sold 12,600 tractors. This decreased from the 12,733 units sold in September 2022, marking a notable decline of 1.04%.
In September 2023, MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA LIMITED (SWARAJ DIVISION) sold 9,853 tractors. This marked a substantial increase of about 12.28% compared to the 8,775 units they sold in September 2022. However, their market share remained at 3.53%.
INTERNATIONAL TRACTORS LIMITED achieved sales in September 2023. They sold 7,056 tractors, compared to 6,785 units in September 2022, which marks a growth of nearly 3.99%. This growth also secured them a market share of 1.70%.
Meanwhile, TAFE LIMITED experienced a loss of 2.80%, selling 6,862 tractors in September 2023. This is in comparison to 7,060 units sold in September 2022. However, the company managed to maintain a market share of 0.89%.
Escorts Limited Ltd sold 5,826 tractors in September 2023. This reflects significant growth, almost 4.77%, compared to the 5,561 tractors they sold in September 2022.
John Deere sold 3,792 tractors in September 2023. This marked a decrease of 18.10% compared to the 4,630 tractors they sold in September 2022.
Eicher achieved robust tractor sales in September 2023. They sold 3,745 units, marking a 3.60% increase from the 3,615 units sold in September 2022.
In September 2023, CNH INDUSTRIAL sold 1,903 tractors, fewer than the 2,263 tractors sold in September 2022, resulting in a decrease of 15.91%.
In September 2023, KUBOTA sold 918 tractors, a significant drop from September 2022 when they sold 1,445 fewer tractors, marking a decrease of 36.47%. However, its market share declined by 0.72% during this period.
V.S.T. TILLERS TRACTORS achieved a significant milestone in September 2023 by selling 279 tractors. This marked a substantial drop from the 538 tractors they sold in September 2022. However, the company experienced a loss of 48.14%.
FORCE MOTORS LIMITED had a challenging performance in September 2023, selling only 251 units. This marked a significant decline of 27.25% compared to the retail sales of 345 units in September 2022.
For other tractor brands, the retail sales in September '23 amounted to 1,407 units. This significantly dropped from the 6,571 units sold in September '22, indicating a nearly 78.59% decline.
