FADA released Retail Tractor Sales Data on 7 October 2024. The data indicates that 62,542 tractor sales were made in September 2024, an increase from the 54,529 units sold in September 2023. Consequently, tractor sales in India increased by 14.69% in Sep 2024.
In September 2024, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (Tractor) sold 14,762 units, compared to 12,604 units in Sep 2023. This shows a growth of 17.12%. The company's market share increased slightly from 23.11% in 2023 to 23.60% in 2024, a change of 0.49%.
Swaraj tractor sold 11,011 units in September 2024, compared to 9,860 units in September 2023, a growth of 11.67%. The market share dropped slightly from 18.08% in 2023 to 17.61% in 2024, a change of -0.47%.
In September 2024, International Tractors Ltd (Sonalika Tractor) sold 8,116 units, an increase from 7,061 units sold in the same month in 2023. This reflects a growth of 14.94% in unit sales. The company's market share also saw a small improvement, rising from 12.95% in September 2023 to 12.98% in September 2024, showing a positive change of 0.03%. This indicates steady growth for the company in both sales and market presence.
On the other hand, TAFE sold 7,285 units in September 2024, compared to 6,869 units in September 2023, showing a growth of 6.06%. Despite the increase in sales, TAFE’s market share dropped from 12.60% in 2023 to 11.65% in 2024, a decrease of 0.95%. This indicates that even with higher sales, their market presence slightly declined.
Escorts Kubota Ltd (Agri Machinery Group) sold 6,313 units in September 2024, compared to 5,832 units in September 2023, showing a growth of 8.25%. However, the company's market share decreased from 10.70% in 2023 to 10.09% in 2024, a decline of 0.61%. This indicates that while sales improved, other competitors gained a larger share of the market.
Furthermore, John Deere India Pvt Ltd (Tractor Division) sold 4,843 units in September 2024, up from 3,775 units in September 2023. This shows a growth of 28.29%. The market share increased from 6.92% to 7.74%, a rise of 0.82%. This indicates strong growth and a better market position.
Eicher Tractors sold 3,804 units in September 2024, slightly up from 3,745 units in September 2023, showing a growth of 1.58%. However, the market share decreased from 6.87% to 6.08%, a decline of 0.79%. This suggests that despite a small increase in sales, the company lost some market presence.
CNH Industrial (India) Pvt Ltd sold 2,525 units in September 2024, up from 1,901 units in September 2023, showing strong growth of 32.81%. The market share also increased from 3.49% to 4.04%, a rise of 0.55%. This indicates a significant improvement in both sales and market position.
Kubota Agricultural Machinery India Pvt Ltd sold 1,201 units in September 2024, up from 919 units in September 2023, showing growth of 30.70%. The market share increased from 1.69% to 1.92%, a rise of 0.23%. This reflects a positive trend in sales and market presence.
Lastly, in September 2024, the other category sold 2,682 units, up from 1,963 units in September 2023, showing significant growth of 36.62%. The market share increased from 3.60% to 4.29%, a rise of 0.69%. This indicates strong performance and an improved market position for this category.
In summary, in September 2024, many manufacturers increased their unit sales compared to September 2023, with Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (Tractor) selling the most at 14,762 units. However, some companies, such as TAFE and Escorts Kubota, saw small drops in their market share even though their sales went up.
