Mahindra OJA Tractor - Mahindra's Upcoming Global Tractor Platform "K2"

Mahindra & Mahindra will launch a global tractor brand under the Mahindra Oja Brand name. 

Farm Equipment Sector's part Mahindra Tractor revealed that the company would launch Mahindra Oja under the global tractor program, K2. Mahindra Oja is a future ready tractor with ace technology specifications consisting of 40 tractors. The OJA word comes from the Sanskrit word "OJAS", which stands for strength, energy and spirit. Mahindra claims that the brand is the most ambitious brand till now. 

Mahindra OJA tractor models are manufactured by focusing on international and domestic markets. It is a lightweight global tractor model specially designed for South East Asia, Japan and the USA. These tractors come down with close cooperation among Mahindra Agricultural Machinery. Along with this, Mahindra Research Valley India, Mitsubishi and the R&D centre for Mahindra's Auto & Farm sector.

On the announcement of the Brand Name, M&M Ltd. President Farm Equipment Sector, Hemant Sikka, said, "Ahead of the global premiere of the production version of our most-awaited tractor program codenamed K2, we at Mahindra are pleased to announce "OJA" as the new brand name of Mahindra's new lightweight tractor range. Slated for launch later this year, the OJA is Mahindra's Future Ready approach to tractorization, exemplified by numerous first-in-class technologies for improved performance and productivity, through which we aim to transform farming and enrich farmers' lives."

Mahindra Oja Tractors will be produced in Mahindra's Zaheerabad tractor facility. It is Mahindra's youngest and South Asia's largest manufacturing plant. The Mahindra's Zaheerabad tractor facility also rolled out the Mahindra next generation series, Yuvo and Jivo, the newly launched Plus series. 

Mahindra is the only Telangana company that invested Rs 10.87 billion in Mahindra's Zaheerabad tractor facility. Over 1500 workers are employed with the farm equipment sector capacity of 100000 tractors/year on a two shift basis. 

Zaheerabad plant is the most technologically advanced, with a Mahindra tractor range of over 330 different tractor variants. The plant manufactured tractor Hp ranges from 30 hp to 100 hp. Since its establishment, the plant has also had Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) philosophy and culture. And around 65% of Zaheerabad tractor production exports globally.
