Mahindra Tractors, a sector within the Mahindra Group and the top tractor producer globally in terms of quantity, has introduced its latest compact tractor, the Mahindra OJA 2121, in Madhya Pradesh. This particular model is tailored for effective puddling tasks in crops such as paddy, and Mahindra anticipates a high demand for it during the upcoming Kharif season.
The OJA 2121 represents a major step forward in tractor innovation, providing durability, modern technology, and unparalleled performance. This 4WD tractor is designed to effectively tackle a range of agricultural tasks by providing stability and traction. Equipped with a 3-cylinder, 21hp motor and a hydraulic lift of 950 kg, this machine offers farmers the necessary power and effectiveness for contemporary agriculture.
The tractor's advanced gear system, which includes 12 forward and 12 reverse gears, allows for efficient operation, particularly in smaller farms. The Mahindra OJA 2121 also boasts an ergonomic design that offers a clear 360-degree view, reducing operator fatigue and enhancing productivity. Its smooth power steering system ensures easy maneuverability, making it ideal for simultaneous work in crops like sugarcane and cotton.
Mahindra has focused on reducing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) to ensure comfort and safety during extended use. Priced competitively at ₹7.35 lakh in Madhya Pradesh, the OJA 2121 includes Mahindra’s advanced technology packs – PROJA and MYOJA. These packs offer several advantages, including enhanced application suitability, reduced manual interventions, and real-time tractor health monitoring via a mobile app.
Derived from the Sanskrit word “Ojas,” meaning “Powerhouse of Energy,” the OJA 2121 is part of Mahindra’s most ambitious global lightweight tractor platform. This series was developed through a collaboration between Mahindra Research Valley in India and Mitsubishi Mahindra Agriculture Machinery in Japan, marking a transformative shift in lightweight 4WD tractor design and engineering.
Following its successful launch in India, the OJA range will be introduced in North America, ASEAN, Brazil, Australia, South Africa, Europe, and the SAARC region. Mahindra plans to debut in the ASEAN region, starting with Thailand in 2024. The OJA tractors are exclusively manufactured at Mahindra’s state-of-the-art facility in Zaheerabad, Telangana.
The OJA range is powered by three state-of-the-art technology packs to enhance productivity and user experience: PROJA (Productivity Pack), MYOJA (Telematics Pack), and ROBOJA. PROJA, the Productivity Pack, reduces manual interventions and operator fatigue, ensuring efficient farming and enhanced product experience. Features include the Creeper Mode for precision operations, a forward/reverse gear for improved work speed, and tilt & telescopic steering for optimal comfort.
MYOJA, the Telematics Pack, empowers farmers with advanced control over their tractors via a mobile app. It provides real-time data on location, fuel usage, and tractor health, aiding in proactive maintenance planning. Features include GPS live location tracking, service alerts, critical alerts for major issues, diesel monitoring, and a coverage & speed calculator.
