Chennai, November 19, 2024: A division bench of the Madras High Court directed that the status quo be maintained in support of TAFE's use of the "Massey Ferguson" brand. The judgement, announced on November 18, 2024, acknowledges TAFE's more than 60-year record of using the trademark.
The Madras HC stated that ownership and other related matters would be decided by a Single Judge of the court, before whom the applications are pending. This order further extends the status quo already granted back in April 2024. It is the latest in a line of judicial rulings protecting the rights of TAFE over the Massey Ferguson brand.
The court order ensures that TAFE is allowed to continue using the brand as all legal matters are resolved.
