Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela 2023 - Closing Ceremony 4th March ‘23

The 3-day Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela 2023 began on 2nd March ‘23 and observed its closing ceremony on 4th March 2023. The theme of this three-day event was based on 'Nutritional, Food, and Environmental Security through millets by Sree Anna'.

The event was conducted at the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi campus. Moreover, on the third day of the mela, there were 2 technical sessions about modern farming techniques and technologies like tractors and drones in agriculture to educate farmers.

The 1st technical session was chaired by Dayashankar Singh, Head, Farmers Producers Organisation Association of Uttar Pradesh and Co-chaired by Dr Neeru Bhushan, ADG, IPM&TM, ICAR, New Delhi. 

Moreover, Dr Ashok Kumar Singh, Director, ICAR-IARI, welcomed the Chairman, Co-chairman and panellist of the session and asked the panellists to discuss their start-up experiences with the farmers.

The esteemed founders like Rahul Dhingra, Co-founder, F2DF, Avinash Shukla, Founder of Ramraj Services Pvt. Ltd. and Sudhir Ingle, Director, Maharashtra FPC, Pune, shared their experiences on how they can get a fair price from FPO.

Dr. K. V. Prabhu, Former Chairperson, the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers' Rights Authority, Government of India, New Delhi, chaired the second technical session. Other panellists like B. S Cheema, Kawal Singh Chauhan and Sushma Singh were the special invitees to this session.

Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh, Director, ICAR-IARI, welcomed this event's chairman and special attendees. In addition, the innovative Farmers Awardees of Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela 2023 were called upon the stage to share their experiences about ideas & technologies that can help farmers increase their productivity & income level.

The esteemed members of the panel started the closing ceremony of Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela 2023 at 2:00 pm in the afternoon. Kailash Chaudhary, State Agriculture Minister, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India was present at the event as the chief guest. Dr Ashok Kumar Singh, Director, ICAR-IARI, welcomed the chief guest and other panellists. 

Felicitation in Krishi Vigyan Mela 2023

42 Innovative farmers, followed by 6 fellow farmers, were felicitated with the ‘IARI Innovative Farmer Award' during the event. The felicitated awardees as well included progressive women farmers of India.

The 3-day event concluded successfully. Many farmers got great help from the live demo on crop varieties that are climate resilient.

Dr Ashok Kumar Singh, Director, ICAR-IARI, wished and thanked all the awardees for their tremendous contribution towards agricultural development and ensuring food sufficient in the country. 

Moreover, Dr Himashu Pathak, Secretary, DARE & Director General, ICAR, also wished and congratulated all the Pusa awardee farmers. He expressed that — these farmers inspire us truly, and he asked them to share their journey to inspire other fellow farmers present at the event.

He appreciated the development of climate-resilient crop varieties and technologies that enhance Nutritional, Food & Environmental security. He also encouraged the role of Pusa Institute for providing high-yielding & good quality crop varieties throughout India. Everyone ended the event on a good note by celebrating the grand success of Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela 2023.
